> Meridian is a decentralized secondary marketplace for real-world assets built on the XRP Ledger. Buyers and sellers trade physical goods using XRPL-native escrow for trustless, non-custodial transactions.

## Overview

Meridian enables peer-to-peer trading of physical items — vintage collectibles, luxury goods, electronics, and more — with blockchain-backed escrow protection. Every transaction settles in 3-5 seconds on XRPL. The platform never takes custody of user funds.

- **XRPL Escrow**: Native EscrowCreate/EscrowFinish with SHA-256 crypto-conditions. Funds held trustlessly until delivery is confirmed.
- **Fractional Ownership**: High-value assets can be tokenized into Multi-Purpose Tokens (XLS-89) for shared ownership and income distribution.
- **RLUSD Stablecoin**: Buyers can pay in RLUSD (Ripple's stablecoin). Auto-converted via XRPL DEX before escrow. Non-custodial.
- **5 Wallet Providers**: Xaman, GemWallet, Crossmark, Joey Wallet, WalletConnect.
- **Dispute Resolution**: Community-driven voting with encrypted chat and voter panels.
- **Seller Storefronts**: Custom store pages with reputation scoring and reviews.
- **MRD Rewards**: Multi-Purpose Token reward system for marketplace participation.

## How It Works

1. Seller lists a physical item (mints NFT or uses existing)
2. Buyer purchases — XRPL escrow holds funds with crypto-condition
3. Seller ships the item
4. Buyer confirms delivery — signs 3 sequential transactions (EscrowFinish, NFTokenAcceptOffer, fee Payment)
5. Funds released to seller. NFT transferred to buyer. 0.5% platform fee.
