What wallet do I need?

Meridian supports Xaman (formerly XUMM), GemWallet, Crossmark, Joey, and any WalletConnect-compatible XRPL wallet. Xaman is recommended for the best experience including MPT token support.

Do I need to create an account?

No traditional account needed. Just connect your XRPL wallet and you're ready to go. Your wallet address is your identity. You can optionally add a username, email, and shipping address in your profile.

Browsing and listing are free. A 0.5% platform fee (0.3% for Pro subscribers) is collected on-chain when a transaction completes. Sellers also pay standard XRPL network fees — approximately 0.00001 XRP (~$0.0002) per transaction. For context, you could execute 1 million transactions on XRPL for roughly $15 in fees (source: xrpl.org).

How does escrow work?

When a buyer purchases, their XRP is locked in a native XRPL escrow contract — not held by Meridian. The escrow transaction settles in 3-5 seconds and costs approximately $0.0002 in network fees (source: xrpl.org). Funds release to the seller only after the buyer confirms delivery or after the 12-hour auto-release timer expires. If there's a dispute, community voters decide the outcome.

What can I sell on Meridian?

Physical goods tokenized as NFTs on the XRP Ledger — electronics, collectibles, clothing, art, and more. Items are minted as XLS-20 NFTs with metadata stored on IPFS. See our Terms of Service for prohibited items.

How does shipping work?

After a purchase, the seller ships the item and enters tracking info (carrier + tracking number). Tracking is integrated with USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. The buyer can monitor shipment status in real time. Shipping speed affects seller reputation.

What happens if I don't confirm delivery?

If the buyer takes no action within 12 hours after delivery confirmation, escrow auto-releases to the seller. This protects sellers from unresponsive buyers. The buyer can open a dispute at any time before the auto-release.

How are disputes resolved?

Disputes go through a community voting process. Eligible voters (10+ completed transactions) review evidence from both parties and vote. Voting proceeds in rounds (7 → 15 → 25 voters) until 60% consensus is reached. The outcome is executed on-chain automatically.

How does seller verification work?

Seller tiers are earned automatically through completed transactions: 5 transactions → Verified, 20 transactions → Trusted. Both buying and selling count. Pro tier is available via subscription ($9.99/month in XRP). Higher tiers unlock more listing slots and lower fees.

MRD (Meridian) is a Multi-Purpose Token on the XRP Ledger. Earn MRD by completing transactions (+1) and voting on disputes (+10). Spend MRD to boost listings (-5) or file disputes (-3, refunded if you win). MRD requires a one-time on-chain authorization via Xaman.

Does Meridian hold my funds?

Never. Meridian is fully non-custodial. All payments use native XRPL escrow contracts — funds are locked on the blockchain, not in our wallets. The XRP Ledger has been operating continuously since 2012, closing over 100 million ledgers with 150+ independent validators worldwide (source: xrpl.org). We cannot access, redirect, or withhold escrowed funds under any circumstances.

What data do you collect?

We collect your wallet address (public), and optionally your username, email, shipping address, and profile photo. We never collect private keys, seed phrases, or government ID. Listing photos and NFT metadata are stored on IPFS. See our Privacy Policy for details.
